MY TAKE
Be The Change You Wish To See In The World - Mahatma Gandhi
LEUKEMIA LYMPHOMA SOCIETY
In the spring of 2024, I embarked on a journey fueled by desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those battling leukemia and lymphoma. It all began with a simple idea: to organize a fundraising campaign to support the vital work of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). LLS's mission is one that is important to me as I have seen first hand what cancer can do patient, my grandma suffered through cancer and it was her will power and resilience that was truly inspirational to me, I wanted to contribute to help others who are going through the same difficult journey and do whatever I can to support them. So, I set out to raise funds to contribute to life-saving research, patient support services, and advocacy efforts. Launching the campaign required careful planning and strategic execution. I utilized various fundraising techniques, including online crowdfunding platforms and community events, to engage supporters and spread awareness about the cause. Every dollar raised brought us one step closer to our objective of making a tangible impact in the fight against blood cancers. As the campaign gained momentum, I was humbled by the overwhelming support and generosity of friends, family members, colleagues, and even strangers who rallied behind our cause. Their unwavering dedication and willingness to contribute spoke volumes about the power of collective action and the importance of coming together to support those in need. Through persistent effort and relentless dedication, I surpassed my initial fundraising target, ultimately raising an impressive total of $1,050 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I was honored to be awarded as one of the first ten team members out of the thousands nationally to raise $250 from kickoff. In total my full team made around $5000
FUNDRAISING
As an active member of the Communicare Club at my school, where we focused on community outreach and social initiatives. In an effort to address food insecurity in the Portland metro area, our club organized a successful donut sale fundraiser. Through this event, we were able to raise funds and awareness for the issue, contributing to our mission of helping those in need in our local community. We had 132 kids buy a donut for the cause. A second event I planned with a few friends was a candy fundraiser on Valentines day. In total, after matching funds and running a few more fundraisers, we were able to make a total of $16,000
BLOOD DRIVE CLUB
As an active member of the Blood Drive Club, my role involved efficiently communicating with potential blood donors, ensuring they were well-prepared for their contributions. By sending timely and personalized messages, I aimed to create a smooth and organized experience, encouraging more individuals to participate in this critical cause. This experience honed my communication and organizational skills, highlighting the collective impact we can achieve in saving lives through blood donation. This blood drive we had

WAYNE MORSE GALA
I had the pleasure of attending the Wayne Morse Gala, sponsored by the Democratic Party of Oregon. Thanks to UFCW for purchasing my ticket. The event exuded an air of excitement and unity, bringing together like-minded individuals passionate about progress and change. The evening was filled with inspiring speeches, opportunity to hear from influential leaders, and support the causes we hold dear.
CYSTIC FIBROSIS
Recently, I participated in a 5k run to raise funds and awareness for cystic fibrosis, cystic fibrosis is a genetic disorder that affects the lungs and digestive system, causing persistent respiratory infections and difficulty in breathing due to thick, sticky mucus. Witnessing my friend's strength and determination I was inspired to take action, joining a community dedicated to making a difference. Through the run, we collectively raised awareness and funds, fueling hope for improved treatments and eventually, a cure for cystic fibrosis.

PROTEST
Hello everyone,
As you may know there is an attempt to overturn Roe v Wade, this is incredibly dangerous to women across the country as it can prevent access to safe abortions which can lead to death, infection, and hemorrhage.
This weekend me and some friends went to the front of the justice building, I attached some pictures below.
